DETECTIVE & CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE DIVISION:-
This Division is headed by two Deputy Police Commissioners. They
are assisted by four Addl. Deputy Police Commissioners, six Assistant Police
Commissioners with other Police personnels. Two types of teams work in
Detective Branch such as Zonal Team & Special Team. Zonal Team has specific area
of responsibility. Every Special Team has a type of
crime to deal with. Types of crime include:-

Bomb Disposal & Bomb Recovery. |
They provide service in VVIP protection. They take necessary
steps for setting and maintaining the CCTV in the court, jail, storage room and
other important places. They also perform duties to maintain law & order on the
basis of necessity.
An Addl. Deputy Police Commissioner (Prosecution) supervises and controls the
duty of Prosecution unit of CMP and Court police. He provides legal aid
coordinating with Public Prosecutor and of concerned Court to any officer if
his/her activities would be the subject of Writ or show cause while they are on
duty. He has more than 150 police personnel including an Assistant Police
Commissioner.
Detective & Criminal Intelligence Branch personnel are skilled in modern IT,
CDMS, PIMS etc. They have to engage in a lot of administrative activities with a
few civil staff. They have a long history of success in arresting enlisted
national and international criminals, terrorists, gang of criminals, smugglers,
drug dealers, currency forgers and many others.
